Before making any final decisions, however, we would like to point out a couple of quick things about our targets. Firstly, when we complete the race it is our ardent intention to sell the boat on to the next generation intrepid ocean rowers an then to pass the proceeds on to our charities. Judging by current market value and the amount of additional work we will have done to her we estimate this should raise another GBP 25,000 for our two charities.

Unfortunately, however, we will only be able to pass the proceeds of the sale on to our charities if we have first covered our own expenses (see the first graph below). What this means is that unless we can fully cover the race costs through corporate sponsorship, and personal donations to the race fund, we will have to deduct a proportion of the boat sales revenue to pay ourselves back first. We're just a couple of 26 year olds at the start of our respective careers after all, not multimillionaire playboys.
